ROOSEVELT'S SIGNATURE EVENT
UBIC has more than 90 years of history. The first UBIC was held in 1923 and began as an agricultural and farm equipment convention. The annual festival ran for 21 consecutive years but was discontinued in 1943. It was revived in 1950 as the community celebration we know today and has continued ever since.
"The best thing about the Basin is the people who live here," says Chad Mortensen, director of UBIC events.
The annual UBIC events bring together people from across the Uintah Basin and even brings visitors from across the state. This celebration is all about the sense of community found throughout the area, both in individual towns and the Basin as a whole.
UBIC events span two weeks of fun and entertainment and offer something for everyone.
UBIC goes out with a bang the first Saturday in August with the annual UBIC parade held that morning on Main Street and State Street, a free concert that night featuring local and big-name bands from around the country and, of course, a fireworks show after.
