In early August, farmers, ranchers, housewives, bronc busters and bull riders convene in Duchesne City, the county seat of Duchesne County, for the annual Duchesne County fair.
The week-long fair actually begins with some competitions during the week leading up to the main events.
Two royalties preside over the fair: the Rodeo Royalty and the Miss Duchesne County Royalty. You will see them at nearly all events, helping out and giving back to their communities.
Guest performers, a demolition derby, a motor cross fun runs, a livestock auction, 4-H events, cotton candy, a carnival midway and evenings filled with rodeo competition are all part of the festivities.
A parade on Saturday begins the final evening at the end of fair week and fireworks set off from the high bluffs above the fair grounds send fair-goers home, happy until next year.
